South Sikkim is a district in the North Eastern state of Sikkim. South Sikkim is known for a number of smaller tourist destinations. The district headquarter is located at Namchi. Ravangla is another famous destination there. There are a number of village tourism destinations in South Sikkim including Borong.
Within South Sikkim, you can have varied temperature depending on the altitude of the place. The maximum temperature varies between 17 and 27 degree Celsius. The lower altitude places such as Jorethang are especially warmer. The minimum temperature varies between 2 to 20 degrees in different places with places such as Ravangla and Mainam National Park occasionally witnessing snowfall. Rainfall is mostly concentrated in the Monsoon months of July to September with average rainfall being about 163 cm.
